Descriptive Paragraph
Finally, after the longest wait that I can remember, it was here. Star Wars Episode I: The
Phantom Menace had finally come out on video. I had seen it 9 times in the theater until they
took it off. I then began the long wait for the video release, and now, that wait was over.
As I stood there, staring at the masterpiece of a movie, I said to myself, "Wow, it's a good
thing that I got here early." Of the hundreds of movies they had on the shelves when they first
opened the doors, a mere 5 remained. I quickly grabbed one just to make sure I would get it. I
marveled at the beauty of the cover. The holograms and bright pictures were almost hypnotic.
While reading the back cover and looking at the pictures, I was taken back to the first night I saw
it. I waited in line for 5 hours and with each passing minute I became more and more excited. It
was one of the greatest nights of my life. But anyway, the words on the back were almost usless
to read because I already knew most of the dialogue. But the pictures still stopped my heart the
same day that the trailors did more than a year ago. Who would have ever thought that this low
budget movie, created from the mind of some unknown director would end up having one of the
biggest influences on our culture that anything has ever had. And with the release of Episode 1,
millions of children joined the billions of people that were already fans. I felt honored to know
that besides me, there were thousands of other people holding this same tape and thinking these
same thoughts. I could hardly wait to get home and get this into my V.C.R.
I knew that tonight would be another great night. Holding it closely to my chest, I walked
up to the counter and placed my money down. "Is this all?" the cashier asked. I replied with an
impatient yes and quickly took my treasure out to the car.
